Extra screening: Colours of Time and Blackrock, Thursday 15 October
Due to overwhelming demand, we have scheduled an additional screening of Colours of Time, our opening film, at 6.30pm on Thursday 15 October at the EYE Cinema. It will be preceded by another showing of the hugely popular short film Blackrock.
Those who saw Colours of Time during our opening weekend absolutely loved it, so if you missed it, we highly recommend taking this opportunity to see it.
Blackrock
A late summer’s day at one of Galway Bay’s most iconic spots, observing the swimmers, the sea and the rhythms of a much-loved local ritual. This short has proved a firm favourite with GFS audiences, and many of our patrons have yet to see it.
Colours of Time
Four distant cousins, all descendants of a woman called Adèle Meunier, are brought together in Normandy by the unexpected inheritance of their ancestor’s house. They must clean out the property, which has been abandoned since 1944. As they sift through old photos and letters, they imagine Adèle’s life as she moves to a vibrant Paris of 1895.
Tickets
- €10 + booking fee online, or €10 cash at the box office
- €8 concession (students, seniors, unwaged) + booking fee online, or €8 cash at the box office
- Free overground and underground parking at the EYE Cinema
Please note: Season Tickets
As this is an additional screening, it is not part of the original Autumn/Winter Season and is not included in the GFS Season Ticket. GFS incurs a further film licence fee and cinema rental charge for this screening, so we need to charge separately to cover these costs.
Season Ticket holders who have pre-booked for 15 October believing it was covered will be contacted directly by GFS about the options available.
GFS tickets remain substantially less expensive than standard cinema admission, made possible in part through the valued support of Galway City Council.
We look forward to welcoming you to Colours of Time and to the rest of our Autumn/Winter Season. Warmest as always, the Galway Film Society Committee.
